Steve Collette, Founder and President of East Brands, was raised in Charlottetown, PEI. He left home to go to BC when he was 16. Steve lived in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and eventually ended back on the Island in 2003. His experience ranges from hospitality, tourism, oil and gas, landscaping, music, and construction. He studied Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island and got married to his life and business partner Pam in 2006. Pam and Steve started 3rd Degree Training and grew it into a Franchise with multiple locations across Canada. Through the process of franchising 3rd Degree Training, Steve got entrenched in the Franchise ecosystem.
Steve joined the Canadian Franchise Association as a member with 3rd Degree and now sits on the Board of Directors as a Franchisor. East Brands is also a member of the Canadian Franchise Association. He also owns, along with his partner, MVP Modern Barbers, a fast growing franchise in Canada who are also members of the CFA.
His qualifications in the franchise industry come from years of education through self study, trial and error, and working with emerging and established brands in many different capacities. He is also a proud franchisee.
Steve has the ability to see the big picture, learn from his mistakes and build meaningful relationships in the Franchising industry in Canada, US, Australia, and the UK.
Steve has spent a lot of time learning the intricacies of franchising by being entrenched in the industry across North America. He is passionate about entrepreneurship, franchises, and helping brands grow.
His most memorable accomplishments are:
- Starting 3rd Degree Training on an outdoor field in Stratford, PEI
- Getting married to his wife Pam in 2006 and growing their business together
- Building their first physical location on the fields where they first started
- Becoming a dad to his son, Lukin, in 2015
- Launching East Brands in 2020
- Signing the first 10 brands with East Brands in 2021
